Valerie Vogt

Valerie has been a Pastor at Servant Church since July 2016. She feels like the phrase “I wasn’t born in Texas, but I got here as fast as I could” fits her well. Valerie grew up in the suburbs east of San Francisco. She attended the University of California at Davis for college and went to Duke Divinity School to become a pastor. It was in her last year of seminary that she met Eric. He introduced her to Austin during South by Southwest and it was just a matter of finding the right ministry opportunities to get them to Texas (and Eric back the city where he had lived before grad school). Eric and Valerie have two kids, Caleb, born in 2012, and Jacob, born in 2015. Valerie served as an associate pastor at Pflugerville First United Methodist Church before joining the staff at Servant Church. Her focus is on building community, encouraging people on their faith journey, and especially supporting Life Groups at Servant Church.
Valerie loves good food, running, yoga, reading books, traveling, sleeping (something that can be hard to get enough of with kids), and coffee. She would love to take you out for a cup of coffee to hear about your story and share more of hers.
