Eric Vogt is the pastor of Servant Church. For Eric, a life with God has always been an adventure. He’s lived a number of places, growing up in California and in the Dallas/Ft. Worth area. While attending Harvard for college, Eric was transformed by following Christ in authentic community with InterVarsity Christian Fellowship. After graduation, Eric heard God’s invitation to ministry and began serving students at Texas Tech and the University of Texas at Austin. Following five years of campus ministry, he earned his Master of Divinity at Duke Divinity School in Durham, North Carolina. Eric moved back to Austin with his wife Valerie in the summer of 2009. Valerie also has an M.Div. from Duke and serves as a provisional elder at FUMC Pflugerville . Eric and Valerie recently welcomed thier first son, Caleb, to the world in February 2012.
Eric was ordained as a minister by Mosaic, another new faith community in Austin.
Eric loves Tex-Mex, coffee, college sports (Duke basketball and Longhorns football especially), live music of many kinds, travel for learning and service (including Uganda, South Africa, and India), and talking theology. He’d love it if you let him buy you coffee sometime – hear more of his story and share some of yours.
